The thing about Walz is he is so unabashedly Minnesotan. His Scout is like a butch 1970s version of a Bronco, tough, durable, and the dream vehicle of many a Minnesota man. He doesn’t have to worry a great deal about retirement savings because Minnesotan public retirement is very good. Besides, as a teacher, he didn’t make that much money in any case, and might have been piling his “investments” into deferred comp like many other Minnesota public employees. His lovable dad personality is so common among Minnesota men. Truly. I pity other parts of the country who sees stuff like this and doesn’t get it - life is good here because we make it so. I know many people come here from other states and still don’t get it, sometimes even after many years. The culture here really is different. In some ways it really is “Fargo” and probably much more so than many of us would care to admit.
Tim Walz is a great candidate for vice president, people are only beginning to see the depth he brings, and he’s going to be a great vice president. Watch for even more one liners - he has a wicked wit!
I know he’s so proud of his Scout! With his 8-track player inside, just to drive his kids insane! LOL. I love that you are loving every minute of this, Steve. And yes, I’m very proud to be Minnesota adjacent today!
I love hearing your voices! And I enjoyed the great conversation… after I finished grinning so hard my cheeks hurt. I remember Jon rendering George Carlin bits in 9th grade … the hippy dippy weather reports, or the seven words, etc. Suspended in the amber of memory. Timeless. Sticky. Sweet.

Love and Kisses Robin! And “ if you don’t like the weather… Move!” - G. Carlin
